Preparing for your Spray Tan

Preparation for a spray tan or at-home tan is crucial. If you do not prep your skin properly, the results will be impacted. Preparing for a tan simply helps the solution (or mousse) stick to you seamlessly. If we leave moisturizer, creams, deodorant etc on the skin prior to application, it creates a barrier on the skin and will result in a patchy development and no one wants that! Exfoliation is probably the most important part of tan prep as it removes any dead skin, old tan and creates a clean base for application.

Fun fact, if you have deodorant on you, your underarms will turn green! Although this fades, it can result in that area not absorbing any solution.

Maintaining your Tan

Fake tan should last roughly 5 days, and upwards of 10 days if maintained properly. If you do not follow proper maintenance, your tan will quickly turn streaky, patchy and you will look like a tiger loaf bread #notcute

Maintaining your tan is pretty simple! Pat dry after showering, avoid soaking (baths, hot tubs etc), moisturize after every shower and stay hydrated.
